Laughlin Ranch, Bullhead City, AZ

Over the past weekend, we made our way to Laughlin, NV for a little gambling and golf. For those of you that have never been to Laughlin it's across the Colorado River from Bullhead City, AZ. I really enjoyed playing Laughlin Ranch Golf Course, which is on the Arizona side. This course is a high desert course on the mountain side. The winds were exceptionally brisk that day and definitely played to my advantage. The boys have a tendency to hit their drives higher, which most of the time, the wind caught and would push the ball off into the desert. Since my drives are lower, I managed to kick their butts. Ya for me! This is a course you would not want to play during the summer, since Bullhead City is normally the hottest spot in the nation. I recommend going in the winter or spring time. All in all, I had a great golf game, though I can't say the same for my gambling skills. Because if lint were a currency, I would be a rich! Give this one a try!

Biltmore Resort Links Course

Don't let anyone ever tell you that it doesn't get cold in Arizona. Because last weekend was freak'n cold! Friday we had plans to golf at Bellaire. Had to cancel because of a frost warning and the fact that it was 35 degrees out. Saturday, we booked a tee time of 9:00 at the Biltmore Resort. Also a freeze warning, but we ended up being the first 4-some out by 9:45. I had a fun time playing this course, frozen face and all. The course is challenging, but a whole lot of fun. There are great mountain views and the fairways are well maintained. The staff was friendly and they also make a mean breakfast in the restaurant. I would recommend this course for the more skilled golfer. There is par 3 on the back 9 where the ladies have an elevated tee-box. I chunked one off the tee box, hit the cart path and landed right in the middle of the green, 5 feet from the flag. Might not have been pretty in person, but that par sure did look great on paper. Overall the course is very fun and I would definitely go back and play it again.
